GREAT NEWS FOR... ME!
I don't know if you've heard of this video art competition. The rules are simple: you send a 1 minute long video with fashion, style, etc. as moving forces. The winner is decided by some "qualified judges" and the prize are some unspecified items (expensive clothes please), so whatever, but it's cool that many people get to see what you've done, right?...
Even though I had heard of this competition before, only recently I learned about the second edition and its June 15th deadline, and it pissed me cause I would've liked to make a video, a little one, a little cheap one (cheap as in priceless, priceless as in free), but yet again it's cool that many people can see it, and as the music videos lover I am I've learned that lack of resources many times helps to push your inventiveness, and excess of it can corrupt the original idea.
Anyway now that I've read all of the requirements to participate I'm not so sure they will let me (it's more difficult to be a participant in this thing than to be a Doctor in China), for example you gotta be registered in the IQONS* community, which is NOT a pain cause I love it, but you gotta have 10 people in your online entourage! OK I'm not sure what that means but I just registered recently and I don't even have a picture cause the page won't let me (no, I'm not blonde!).
So as I read at the blog of Diane Pernet (here), who's one of the organizers, the new deadline is August the 15th so I'll do what I can, I already know what I wanna do and it's as weird as engaging so we'll see. As a teaser I'll say I got inspired by Balenciaga/Ghesquière, unless I change my mind which is quite likely.
Read all about it at IQONS* (you got a shiny link in my right column). This is the winner of the first edition, so you get the picture:
DON'T WORRY ABOUT ME, IF THEY LET ME PARTICIPATE, I'LL ROCK IT! (or something)
