TODAY: STRAIGHT VS. GAY

    I’ve been thinking lately about how fucked up gay sex is. I know homosexuals have traditionally been in the “dark side”; hiding, running away, etc. but nowadays, are gay relationships the same as the heterosexual ones or is it true the vision of depravation and vice in the gay world? In the media we get a mixed message, one way we get the stiff image of the perfect gay couple, both “life partners” (*ugh* I hate that term) being healthy-clean-polite-educated-handsome-sweet like the ones we saw the other night on Desperate Housewives, in a biblical event for American TV. Oh aren’t they perfect? Indeed. Don’t we love them gays when they’re neat and cute? Oh yes, we wanna bite them!
    On the other hand we have this flagrant rainbow earthquake that threatens our families with perdition and lust and sin. We see them partying, drunk, touching each other, many of them, at the same time, in a night club. We see them acting gay, talking gay, dressing gay... They don’t go to school, they don’t work, they don’t care, they don’t love, they don’t date, they don’t have dogs (besides chihuahuas)... Can’t all the same-sex lovers be neat and cute?

 

    Well, aren’t those all preconceptions? I mean, whenever they talk about something related to homosexuality on the news they show footage from Gay Pride, so obviously people have this idea that all gay people do is party half-naked. Jeez. I know straight people don’t have that kind of parades, I know that many gay nightclubs are porny, but hello, all the rapists are straight, all brothels are straight, all the prostitution mobs are straight, but then you see a bunch of guys dancing shirtless and all gays are evil. That’s reasonable.
    There are even what I call the homophobic gays. These guys are gay but (I’m guessing) because of social repression and lack of self-acceptance, and also ignorance, they’ve come to believe that only being gay and “discreet” or manly or whatever is OK. They reject anything other than that and don’t wanna be related to them. I don’t wanna talk much about this cause it’s frustrating how far stupidity can reach, but I wanna say to this people that if you don’t accept yourself you’ll never be accepted, if you don’t fight for your cause no one will, well yes, we the brave ones are doing it for you, but we will be proud when we win, you’ll eventually maybe accept yourself and enjoy the results of the war the brave ones have won. This is why I always automatically like straight guys who are gay-friendly, like it or not we are living in a war situation so allies are always welcome.
    I’m not exaggerating when I say war. This is no joke, this is in fact one of the oldest wars, one with countless victims and well, as any other war it’s an unfair one, one the victims didn’t choose to fight in. Oh and by the way, it doesn’t affect only Kosovo or Irak, it affects millions of people around the world, including your neighbor, your teacher, your doctor.
    About the manly / not-manly gays thing, what can I say, I believe in variety, I believe in freedom, in understanding, in coexistence, in respect. Sadly these are words, empty words that won’t get anywhere, that can’t change anything. I’m now feeling there’s no way hate will someday end, it’s just part of our nature, there’s always gonna be people hating other people. Shame.
    If being feminine is the recognizable feature of the minority I’m part of so be it. I don’t wanna change that, I wanna change people don’t accepting it. This is NEVER gonna change, we’re not going anywhere and no, we’re not gonna be all neat and cute and manly, some of us are gonna be messy and drags and drug addicts and sex addicts, but then people will realize there are the same and worse things in their side, only some of us are a bit different in some ways. It’s in part a matter of getting used to it.
    If cruelty is part of our species, so are minorities. History has proven that going against that it’s not only cruel but also pointless. I’m gonna throw the thorniest question I can think of: when the time comes that science has come to be able to predict and change the sexuality of your children, should we be aloud to do it (therefor killing homosexuality)?
    I can think of many people that’d be more than happy with that idea, I, on the other hand, refuse to end up living in a world filled with TomKats, I happen to want some Amy Winehouse or John Galliano under my same sky. Call me weird. I believe in variety, and when the time comes I will believe in letting something as nasty and terrible as say, Me, see the light of day.

   

    Oh dear, I wasn’t supposed to talk this much about this! I wanted to write about the state of gay relationships because the other day a guy wanted to make “stuff” with me in the bathroom. Of a train station. You see, the thing is the guy is not your average pervert. He was very young (like 20), university type, and even kind of handsome. I don’t think any good looking straight guy sees himself in that kind of situation, I know there are perverts of every kind, but wait a minute, is this kid really a pervert? Isn’t he a victim of the situation he got to live in? The city I study in is kind of small and depressing (that’s why I didn’t move there and I go back and forward by train everyday), definitely not the perfect place to let a fully normal life as a homosexual flow, just so you picture it. I’ve heard there’s a gay club, a guy pointed me to the web to see pics the other day, and ya, it’s a club, and it’s gay, but I can imagine the kind of repression that boy is been through to have to give away his body as easily as I’m telling you.
    In case you’re thinking “maybe he just liked you and instantly couldn’t help but want you”, well, unluckily for me I’m not that hot, but most importantly, I gotta tell you the missing part of the story. This is not the first time I see him kinda waiting outside of the toilets, and not the first time he shows me some directions to some concrete bathroom, I’m guessing to hang out. Funny thing is the other time it happened I was with my mother, and she was a little shocked, plus that’s not the best way to show your progenitor that being gay doesn’t mean being a nasty whore. It keeps happening to me that whenever I’m with her I keep getting some extra male attention. I want it without her! Anyway, I say this kid should move to Barcelona/Madrid and get a life, a boyfriend and a normal sex life. You can’t live that way, can ya.
    This is Spain, here homosexual marriage is not only legal, but ABSOLUTELY equal to the heterosexual one, so imagine how things are in Texas. Iran anyone? God. It’s hard to breath just to imagine it. How lucky I am. It’s unmeasurable.

    I’m a watcher, I’ve always have, I study people and their behaviors, even their forms and movements, I can’t help but thinking about things, and after thinking about this I think there’s not really a difference in our nature, between gay and straight that is. Only we are moving in very different environments even though we all live under the same sky, the same heaven, and don’t forget, most of a person’s personality is made of life experiences. We can’t help that, so until our environments and education are the same, we won’t be the same.
