Ya'll know I love
my The Hills, but if I'd have to give a serious opinion about it I'd have to admit it's pretty ridiculous. The fake drama, the editing of the fake drama which makes it look ridiculously fake, having to deal with Spencer's face, admiring the lives of shallow spoiled teenagers whose only achievement was being born rich in a sunny place, etc.
BUT!
There's hope in the reality show side of things, and it's called The Paper. Like Laguna Beach it's a show about teenagers, but this time MTV goes from West to East and settles in Florida to offer us a more intelligent approach to what being a pre-adult is. In the show these kids have something to do, and it doesn't include talking about nails and shopping and hair extensions, they have to write a high school newspaper!
BAD NEWS IS...
Unlike notorious soul-corrupting MTV original series (I'm looking at you My Super Sweet 16) The Paper won't have a continuity. 8 episodes, that's it, the finale was the other day. Lauren Conrad and her highlights? Will come back August for their sixth season (including Laguna).
ADAM WE WON'T FORGET YOU
If there's something I love and always enjoy is to watch gays on TV, it just fills my spirit, and I'm lucky cause there are always some amazing gays on TV (Danny Noriega hello). Adam is the cute boy in the foreground of the above picture. He's of course not officially out since you can't be out in college, but he's sooo funny and cute and funny... Ugh, I love him! He's so fast and open and dramatic. He's so made for TV. Well truth is the whole cast is so ideal it's hard to believe it was spontaneously there waiting for MTV to cast them. Such charisma! I love that they're so normal, they're not the quarterback and the cheerleader at all. It's so fresh!
